Catching a Cougar

So what should men know about the realities of dating older women? First off, realize that a woman has as much right as a man to date someone younger. Men often refer to older women dating younger men as “cougars,” with the meaning of cougar being a sexy older woman who is typically over age 40; intelligent, financially independent, has a powerful career and knows what she wants and allows herself the freedom to seek out younger men. These sexy alpha females have heard all the lines and know all the moves.

A cougar will dress quite suggestively to make guys notice her, often wearing low-cut or tight outfits to appear younger than her age. From afar she might look like a young hottie, which gets guys to approach her; but by the time you get close enough to her and her true age becomes apparent, she's already been flirtatious with you and has lured you into her lair.

Most cougars look for the hottest-looking guys they can get and for the most part, they think like men in that they seem to want what men want--sex with no strings attached. So with this in mind coupled with the fact that women hit their sexual peak later in life, it could put you in perfect sync with one another. On the other hand, some cougars come on strong and appear to be looking for easy sex, but right around the time things start to get intimate they'll reveal themselves to be seeking a relationship.

As you meet these sexy cougars, make sure you establish what you’re looking for before you get romantically involved. You must be willing to accept the fact that most cougars have a significant amount of baggage e.g., ex-boyfriends, husbands, children, pending divorces, financial obligations, and debts.

You must also understand that a cougar is likely to have had her fill of men telling her what to do, so if you’re used to dating less-experienced younger women, be prepared for a cougar telling you what she wants and how she wants it, especially in the bedroom. You may not be in the driver’s seat, but that could turn out to be a good thing!
